Where did you see that hourly wage. Had a quick look through but didn't see
any specific wage listed.

If you're correct on the hourly wage, then it's probably an assistant
manager job which translates to gofor and do just about everything.

I'm not eligible.
"Door Key and Alarm Code responsibility"
That disqualifies me completely.
The other day, I went home and accidentally hit a wrong number on my
front door keypad. It was dark, so I couldn't see the numbers, but I
had developed this little dance-of-the-fingers, a rhythmic pattern
that many years ago was based on a series of numbers which were easy
to remember. I remembered the little dance, but couldn't remember the
numbers it was based on. So, when I had this brain-fart and blew the
sequence, I couldn't get that little finger-dance to work and I got
flustered making things worse.
So I thought long and hard and remembered the numbers, but it was too
dark to see the keypad and some of the buttons have more than one
number on it, so I was screwed. The key was, of course, in the house.
because after all, what idiot couldn't remember the same sequence he
had been using for years?
I ended up driving my truck, part way up on my front lawn, to
illuminate the keypad with my headlights.
I got in the house and moved the truck back to its spot. Went to my
home office, realized I left my briefcase in the truck, went out to
get it....not in the truck. Mumbling "WTF??" I went back to the house
and there it was, sitting on the front porch.

I poured myself a double. Shades of 2003 when I sold my last business.
It is hard to pace yourself when you're really into what you're doing.
I hafta learn to relax. Sometimes the littlest things carry the
biggest messages, sortakinda like a bullet. Two weeks of Tobermory
coming up!

$5.85/hour?

I'm also thinking a written definition of the term "manager" from HF would
be in order before leaping.

Extrapolation ... it's HF, after all, and $5.85/hour seems to be going rate
for a retail store "manager" in these parts ... well, maybe $6.85/hr, but
most don't demonstrate even that much ability.

Had to laugh ... that little "finger dance" is what I have to rely upon more
and more when playing bass these days. Brain fart hits, can't remember even
the key of the song, the kick off comes, and you just hope like hell your
fingers will do the right thing, cuz your brain sure as hell is useless ...
amazing thing, muscle memory!

I'm going fishing on the 25th for a couple of weeks ... if I let _anything_
get in the way this time, you have my permission to shoot on sight.

Isn't small business ownership fun??? The hours, the intensity, the
need to feel protective, the constant quoting and execution of
projects, annual tax fight, the slugfests with suppliers and
employees... damn, I love it!!!
But... having said that, when it is time to go fishing.... all the
rewards roll in.

And you know what? I'll be incommunicado ... no puter, no TV, no
cellphone.... just a few carefully placed emergency phone numbers.
There's a bass out there who should be worried.
