Protect hearing when using the router!!! Pay particular attention to
the direction of the router bit rotation when facing different
directions. A right/correct/typical cutting direction has the sharp
edge of the bit entering the edge of the board and a "climb cut" moves
in the opposite direction that tends to try to push the wood away from
the tool. Handy for some things but can be tricky.

After you've been here for a while, you'll find that most don't reply to every
single person who answers their questions. Unless you want to ask a followup
to a specific poster it's sufficient to post a general thanks to all. Online
etiquette is a little different than face to face :-).

Yes, I have read that protective hearing is pretty much needed whenever
you are using any power tool with wood.
