Powermatic 66 45 Degree tilt stop

What is the secret to setting the 45 Degree tilt stop on a Powermatic 66 TS?
Only see two choices:
1. Repeatedly return the blade to 90 degrees and adjust the 45 stop and
hope you can finely get it right; or
2. Lock the blade after setting it to 45 degrees, remove the blade and
table saw top, set the stop and reset the top.

Will do #2 in the morning unless someone can tell me of a better way.

Thanks

Trial and error approach shouldn't take more than a few tries.
