Might keep an eye out for this Harden Furniture auction in McConnelsville, =
coming later. Items aren't listed, yet, but it states the facility has 45=
0,000 sq ft of space, so there's likely lots of stuff to be sold, maybe som=
e reasonable hardware prices, as well.... I often watch for soft close draw=
er slides. Never hurts to window shop, if not a buyer.

That article is dated 9/12 and says *may* move. This 9/14 newscast seems
to indicate that they don't know what is actually going to happen, at least
according to the Harden family member who was the most recent CEO(?).
The move was "on hold" as of the date of the liquidation sale, 9/14.

Something may have changed again since then. I haven't looked much further.

Just getting back to the party....
They will likely be listed at least 2 weeks before the end of the sale, Oct=
31st. Supposing they have lots of stuff, they may have part of the inven=
tory being sold, soon, then another part sold later. =20
Registration (your info) is about the same as your giving info to buy from =
Amazon, it's that secure. You don't have to register until you decide you=
want to bid on an item. A convenience for you, maybe, is you're close eno=
ugh to go inspect an item, before bidding.
Speaking with some of the furniture workers at other facilities (when I bou=
ght stuff), who remained to help service the sales, loading, etc., some of =
these companies are being bought by foreigners, so no telling why Harden ma=
y be selling the assets.=20
I've never bought items that are so large, that insurance is needed or spec=
ial loading requirements are needed. Anytime I've bought, folks, there, w=
ere helpful with loading.... as to a sewing machine w/table and the 2 anti=
que woodworking tables (pretty darn heavy) they had folk lifts to load the =
items. This doesn't mean all facilities are as helpful, but I've found th=
em courtesy and helpful with/when loading. As to the work tables, I wasn't=
allowed inside. They fetched the tables, for me, then helped load them, =
so apparently, some facilities don't allow you to even enter the building/b=
uildings. Another time, I had to walk the facility to find my Lot/Lots, th=
en haul it to the loading dock, where they unloaded it off their dock.

Just FYI...
Harden has (had) been making furniture since 1844. 5 generations of Hardens=
.
In a 2014 (?) video on their website, they claimed to be the oldest furnitu=
re=20
maker in the US. They say that's because they are the best. Something=20
obviously changed.
As far as I can tell, they suspended operations earlier this year, then
went back into production in late August. Then they had a liquidation sale
on September 14th and now they are on the auction block. 174 years in
operation and it took less than a year to all fall apart.

Thanks for the info. Sounds interesting.
Other than checking the website everyday, how will I know when the items ar=
e=20
listed? If I register, will I get an email update regarding when the listin=
gs
are available? (I don't want to submit my info if it won't get me anything.=
)

Actually, they're moving production to North Carolina and the upcoming
auction is for excess equipment.
Note that the patriarch Harden died (at 90+) earlier this month.
