I'd like to convert the attic to a bedroom at a future date and
currently have all the first floor ceilings down to replace them. The
attic is the perlin and rafter type, what would become the floor joists
are only 75x50. I've sized new ones at 170x50 cs3, the span is 7.1m
with a load bearig wall halfway, the plan is to use two joists to span
the 7.1m and join them where they meet on the load bearing wall, but
which is the best way to join them?
Thanks

Does the load bearing wall extend above the level of the new floor
or would the joists rest on top of it? Is it a studwall?
