While I suspect you can buy one on the open market,
most router guides can be shop made with little
trouble. After all, it's usually just a couple of
steel rods and a wooden base....

Thanks for the encouragement, but I have a buncha projects on the fire
right now, so I don't have time to make my own edge guide.
Can anyone confirm that the PC edge guide fits this router?

I have one of these

I've found it works well as an edge guide and offset subbase, as well
as a circle jig (just drill a nail-sized hole where appropriate).
If the pre-drilled holes don't line up with those on your router, you
can drill (and countersink) new ones, if you have time. :)

I purchased the Porter Cable 42690 edge guide this weekend. It does,
indeed, fit the KM12VC and is a very nice, solid, piece of
craftmanship. From the picture of the Hitachi edge guide in my manual,
I believe the Porter Cable will be a far superior product to the
Hitachi guide, if they were to ever actually sell it (I've had one on
order since February, but I cancelled that order yesterday)!

That would be my suggestion. Nice guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. If
you end up buying one from him, you won't be disappointed. I don't own one
of his edge guides but I do have a couple of his base plates and have seen
some of his other products. Top of the line workmanship in all.
