Not quite woodworking, metal vise


Saw the following on the old tractors web page. Might work for
somebody who does some metalwork along with their woodworking. Line wrap
intentional, for some reason, my Usenet server is treating this as a
commercial posting.

Looks like a smith's leg vice, re-arranged to make a portable or
bench-mount vice.

Handy for rough work, their main advantage is a quick screw action so
you can tighten them quickly on hot metal. For general use though, I'd
prefer a bench vice with a slower screw.
