I'm a runner. SWMBO gets me a subscription to "Runners World".
Youngest son and his buddies are all big time college cross country
runners, very fast and competitive. They make fun of my "Runner's
World" , call it the most juvenile mag on running available.

But when they think I'm not looking, I've caught them reading them.

I really enjoy old PM articles, as well as old how-to books.

My plane was parked next to an "Ercoupe" for a while. The Ercoupe was
an early homebuilt that lacked rudders and claimed to be spin-proof,
according to an old PM article. The plane has withstood the test of
time, thanks to a lack of rudders and no way to make it tail-heavy, so
I found the article interesting.

I'd still wanting my flying car!

LOL ... know the feeling. MIL gave me what is apparently a self-renewing
subscription to "The Family HANDYMAN" magazine.

Lots of stuff between the pages that even the DIY channel would not stoop
to, but handy in the throne room in the event speculators drive up the price
of TP.

So am I. I run to the shop, run to a customers's house, run to the

run my little company... I run till I run out of steam.

I can see that as a useful item. Skil is getting some positive
exposure lately. My son-in-law gave a year's worth of Popular Science,
(we love him dearly, but he doesn't quite 'get' what genuinely
interests me just yet) and in the last issue was a URL which took me
to Skil's site. Those guys have been busy!
I have a 30-year old 1/2" Skil VS drill which I use as a nut-driver.
It doesn't want to die. I also have a 7-1/4 Skil Saw which after 35
years only shows a run-out of .002. Great for cutting up 12-foot
pallets and such.

I don't think we can count the Skil boys out just yet.

I dated the daughter of the Toronto area's Skil rep. The biggest head

The thing that bugs me is that they're shooting for a gross weight 500
pounds less than the empty weight of a Smart Car. If they can pass
both DOT and FAA safety regs at that weight then the major automakers
are going to be beating a path to their door.
