Well one thing I know as a Texan, if she was here she would find a way
to connect it to Bush.
Check back here later, I am sure someone can come up with something.
In a way though, I will miss that totally dedicated, relentless,
attack dog mentality she carried on with in her declining years.
Unlike most people in the world of politcal commentary that feebly
attempts to feign balance, she wore her hate of conservatism, the
Supreme Court, and Republicans (even if they were just people from a
republic) like a giant red sash in a parade. With countless articles,
lectures, and at least five books, she was a tireless, unswerving, and
happy warrior/watchdog against her various right leaning targets.
She was dependable in that way, and even though I disagreed with a
great deal of her name calling and outright bashing, she could indeed
be quite funny and clever. And I think most important of all, at
least she stood for >something< and wasn't ashamed or apologetic for
her views. I appreciated her honest and open feelings when writing,
as you always knew exactly where she stood.

Amen.
And boy do we need someone who is honest enough
(or innocent enough) to point out that our king is naked.
Wish she'd written one called "Who is the President's
Tailor?"

Shirley there's gotta be some way to blame this on Bush, no?
I liked Molly much better many years ago, before the cynicism of age got to
her. Something we all have to put up with sooner or later.

I miss Ann Richards more - and I ain't even from Tejas.
Hell, I miss LBJ more, even though the sumbitch tried to get me
killed.
Shit, I miss ole Lloyd Benson even more than all of the above, because
he finally decided what was Oklahoma and what was Tejas - and he put
that little shit in his place when he tried to bring up the ghost of
Jack Kennedy.
Most of all, I miss Barry Goldwater - oh, that's right - this is a
Tejas thread.
Sorry.
