DC using a Delta 28-206 BS?

Hi,

Is there anything that's needed to improve the dust collection on the 14"
28-206? I noticed on my BS there is a 1/2" gap between the swing-away door
and the frame casting. I have been told that for effective dust collection,
the unit needs to be sealed, in as much as possible, while still allowing
for a proper intake volume. If that's true, I can see that at far as my BS
is concerned, the dust collection may be ineffective and is, in fact, seems
poor. I am currently using a Portable Jet 1 HP DC unit with a short hose.

I have thought about using some form of weather stripping to seal the lower
door, but I figured it may be better to ask the group first.

The other question that I have is one regarding the table-top. It appears
that the manufacturer used some form of grinder to flatten the top, which
seems to be relatively flat (using a certified straight edge). The tabletop
is a bit rough - is it worth having the tabletop smoothed at a local machine
shop so it's smooth like my table saw?

Finally, the Iturra catalog, suggests that owners of the 14" Delta may want
to consider a replacement motor that is capable of high speed. Do you have
any recommendations?

Thanks for your help.
