Mayberry RFD: rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated

REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD)
moderated group rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated

This is an utterly informal Request For Discussion (RFD)
for the creation of a world-wide moderated Usenet newsgroup
rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated. This is not a Call for Votes (CFV);
you couldn't vote at this time even if you wanted to. And you know you
do. Muhahahaha! Ahem. Procedural details are below.

Newsgroup line:
rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated: Woodworking with a satanic flair!
(Moderated)

RATIONALE: rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated

This group is proposed as a moderated global forum for the discussion of
satanism-related woodworking topics. The group is a moderated subgroup of
rec.woodworking (The Wreck, as it is commonly referred to by subscribers),
which is averaging more than 10,000 posts per month in 2004.

Reasons for creating a moderated subgroup of rec.woodworking:

1-To ensure that satanic woodworking remains the only topic of discussion,
except on Fridays, which will be dedicated to discussing the past week of
"Oprah"

2-To further our satanic aims of world domination

3-To provide a family-safe, sanitized, homogenized, sterilized environment
to discuss satanic woodworking topics, full of foul language and
pornography links

4-To offer satanic woodworkers access to higher quality sacrificial stock
through the establishment of a world-wide network of satanic woodworkers

Also, the current crop of political debates, flaming wars, personal life story
exchanges, personal insults, for-sale signs, Ebay links, and endless other
posts in rec.woodworking fall far short of our satanic standards. This new
moderated group will give satanic woodworkers the option of subscribing to
a group that is free of those problems. Please see our charter for
examples.

If you love satanic woodworking, but are tired of all the drivel associated
with rec.woodworking, "The Sulfur Wreck" will soon be here!

Moderation Policy:

If the proposed newsgroup is passed, the moderation enclave will enforce the
charter as written. Posts containing violations of the charter will not be
approved, and their authors will be hunted for sport.

The moderation enclave have multiple Internet connections- broadband as the
primary, dialup and astral projection as the backups. There are two
computers, some rusty tin cans, and a sweat lodge on the premises. One of
the computers is in the woodworking shop, but its been buried under
off-cuts for weeks now. It probably still works.

In the event that the moderator cannot fulfill his duties for any period of
time, the Miss America first runner-up will take his place.

CHARTER: rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated

The purpose of the newsgroup is to facilitate open discussion of satanic
woodworking in a snuggly, cocoon-like protective shell where the
Illuminati can't get us. This group is open to satanic woodworking
enthusiasts of all ages, genders, and nationalities except the Irish. We
don't want the Irish. All topics related to satanic woodworking and
related tools, rituals and ceremonies are welcome.

Posts to this newsgroup should be limited to the topic of satanic woodworking
and related tools. Except for off-topic articles that interest the
moderator. Using sexually explicit language or profanity is encouraged.
Because, frankly, I just can't get enough of that kind of stuff.

Political debates:
Satanic woodworkers already know that the Illuminati really control the
Democrats, Republicans, and the Girl Scouts. Therefore, political debate
on r.w.s.m will center around the real goals and membership of the
Illuminati and its relationship with Harvard's Skull & Bones, the Masons,
and Outback Steakhouse.

Flame wars:
Satanic woodworkers are often disappointed that Usenet flame wars rarely
involve actual flames. Therefore, participants in r.w.s.m flame wars will
be required to give their real world address and state publicly what sort
of ordinance they will be using.

The Woodworking Gods:
Discussion can involve your favorite rituals, ceremonies, and types of
sacrifices. Detailed accounts of what each ritual or sacrifice was intended to
bring about and its relative success are expected. For example, before
attempting hand-cut dovetails for the first time would you burn a dogmeat
Stanley transitional, or feed a board foot of scrap mahogany to your
jointer?

Posts containing binary files or graphic reproductions other than small
digital signatures are prohibited. Unless she has a nice rack. Also, posts
including a URL pointing to binary files or web sites related to satanic
woodworking are permitted if the nature of the URL target is clearly
identified in the post.

Moderation Policy: It is the responsibility of the moderation enclave to
enforce this charter with an iron fist. The moderators reserve the
unconditional right to reject any post if it violates any part of the newsgroup
charter. All rejections will be at the sole discretion of the moderators.
You have been warned.

END CHARTER.

MODERATOR INFO: rec.woodworking.satanism.moderated

Moderator: Me

END MODERATOR INFO.

Those types of remarks are unwarranted and will not make it past the
moderator's desk. If you want to push your
anti-satanism/anti-woodworking/anti-moderated agenda, you'll have to
make it more subtle to slip it past the moderators (who will probably
be busy following the porn links and keeping the Irish at bay).

Cheers,
Mike (half-Irish)

Yup. At r.w.s.m, we would point out that you obviously didn't perform the
requisite rituals and sacrifices. Perhaps next time you could try a quick,
but respectful bow toward your shrine to Jim Forrest. Yes, there are
board-stretching incantations, but they take hours to complete and involve
some rather nasty fumes. It's generally easier to just cut another...

Best part of "santanic" woodworking is that you can cut it longer
the second time!
