Hey all,
I am thinking of purchasing a pro-grade tile saw--10 inch or better,
anybody have any recommendations on brand/makes. I really want a
solid one as I will be using this for all types of cutting and quite a
bit of it. I have been getting by on rented saws and a borrowed saw
from a friend so old that the name has worn off. Everything from
pavers to 18" tiles will be cut, and I am thinking of doing some jobs
around the neighborhood for hire.
Thanks,
C

Mk makes the cadillac, but take a look at the Grizzly:
http://www.grizzly.com/products/item.cfm?itemnumber=H3390 it's on sale for
$275.
It's an upgrade to the QEP at the borg that goes for $599 or $699. Honest.
I've run many, many thousands of tiles through mine. I'd save some money
and use it for an angle grinder with tile blades, grinding and polishing
disks, and a laser layout square. List snipped for brevity.
It's not perfect, but it's damn good for the money, even for triple the
money.

The ones you have been renting would be an obvious starting point. Which of
them did you like? Which did you swear at?
MK is always worth looking at.

Nope, you believe wrong, it ain't the same. They look similar in the
pictures, but the HF is crap. I went to a Grizz outlet and bought after
kicking tires.
