Joe, plain and simple, he's a troll. Whether he's an adolescent
pre-pubescent kid with nothing better to do than using mommy's computer and
internet connection or an adult with an adolescent pre-pubescent stunted
brain is irrelevant, he is simply a troll out to see how much attention he
can garner. He cares as much about the dead soldiers as many other
"peace-activists" or other professional "for-causes" activists truly care
about the objects of their pet cause -- i.e. not one whit, it is the
sentiment and emotion that the objects of the pet cause promote in the
public audience, allowing these activists to gain power and control that is
important to this type of person. The Usenet troll uses this power to
feed its ego from those who agree with it and to bask in the glow of
berating those whom it feels are below its standards of ethical
superiority. Real-world activists use this power to shape the society in
which they live to conform to their world view and philosophies. In both
cases, these activists use people who truly do hold various views as
"useful idiots" to accomplish their hidden agendas.
When people don't react with the appropriate emotion and anger directed
in the direction that the activist (in this case troll) desires, then the
targets of the propaganda are berated as sub-intelligent, uncaring,
heartless boobs. In the case of the resident troll, the best it can muster
is some poorly strung together invective and scatalogical commentary.
So, please don't feed the troll. If we stop feeding it, it will blow up
and go away. But for some reason people just absolutely seem to feel that
they have to keep feeding this stupid thing. Folks, it isn't worth it!
Even if you agree with its intentions, it is still a stupid troll. If you
think that it is giving aid and comfort to the enemy and sowing dissent and
sedition in the land -- It's still not worth it! It's just a stupid troll
-- nothing to see here, move along.

Sorry to inform you but the only ones masturbating over the Deaths are the
chicken hawks who sent them there. Unlike you I value greatly the life of
every soldier wasted in Iraq! Just like you masturbating over how clever you
think you are, like your advice you observations are as weak, ill informed
and wrong. Don't feel bad being wrong all the time mediocrity and stupidity
must just be a great part of your life!
It's sad but not a shame......... it suits you!

I disagree. He might be an occasional normal poster under a different
name. And he makes these postings because he truly wants to make a
difference or accomplish something. It's pretty clear that even he is
not sure what he hopes to accomplish. At any rate, it's a safe bet to
say that he is a dude on a mission and this is the best he can up
with. If you think about it, all the cute little responses he makes
are the reason he's thought of as a dope. If he just posted and was
nice and dignified about it, he'd probably have all the support in the
world. Unfortunately support is not what our boy is after. His effort
is more of a masturbation... self gratification on the backs of a
bunch of dead soldiers. It's a damn shame.

I'm still not completely clear. Can you elaborate on what exactly
you're trying to tell me?

I hear you. Points well taken. However, I reserve the right to engage
whomever I wish, whenever I wish and about whatever I wish. Our
friend's posts, and the various replies are pretty easily ignored by
those with better things to do with their time. Anyone who wishes to
limit their newsreading to woodworking related posts shouldn't find it
too hard to do so. I'm sure you'd agree with that.
Mark & Juanita wrote:

I may have my head up my ass from time to time, but one thing I'm sure
about is that he will not continue or quit depending on whether or not
I engage him or ignore him. He will quit when he's good and bored with
it.
And I take issue with your use of the word "it". Whatever his actions,
he is still a person... not an "it".

together.
(actually, I'm not really a regular... more of a drifter. Every year
or so I pick a group for a couple months and spew forth... then I get
bored with it for several months... then pick another group to bless
with my wisdom and knowledge.)

That's what I thought. I had a pretty good idea you'd come up empty.
Even YOU don't know what you're trying to accomplish and we're back to
self-gratification as your motive. With all that passion and energy
and (sometimes) intelligence you display it's a shame that this is the
best you can come up with to satisfy your desire to make a difference.
I suppose I can understand the posting of the casualty notices. It
doesn't do anything but it seems to give you a sense that you are
doing *something*. But all the other stuff... when you answer post

fool in their name.
Anyhow, carry on if you must...
You don't give a rats ass's about our troops over there. So don't bother
asking me.

Mike, the guy you are responding to, I call him Stinky, is like that little

I don't disagree with that. Just be aware of the fact that you are
enabling this reprobate when you engage it. Not trying to tell you what to
do, and I certainly don't want to have a troll get any kind of thrill out
of thinking it has sown dissension between newsgroup regulars, so I'm not
arguing with anyone over chosen paths regarding engaging the troll. Party
on.
