Hi,
So I was recently given a Craftsman radial arm saw. (113.213000 for
anyone interested.) Its an oldy, but a somewhat goody. Anyway, I would
like to set it up along a wall of my shop. On that wall (which might
barely be 16 feet long,) I have my jointer, and my router table in the
corner (mounted on a mobile cabinet.)
My space is limited, so the router has to come out, away from the
corner anytime I need it for anything longer than a few feet. Same
thing with the jointer.
Perpendicular to the wall in the corner is my lathe, which cannot be
moved from that corner.
So...here's the question. I would like to mount the radial saw on a
stand, and have extension tables on either side. Ultimately, I would
like to make part of these extensions my router table. Of course, I
would like the router portion to be as close to the center as possible
( Allowing a large span for routing large pieces) But not get in the
path of the RAS. In addition, I would want the surface of the RAS
table/outfeed tables to be low enough to act as outfeed for my table
saw, which is in the middle of the shop.
So has anyone out there done anything like this? Should I build a
stand for the RAS myself, or should I mount it on a prebuilt stand?
What about storage underneath the outfeed sides?
