Correct.

I was skeptical of this until I did an image search on Google and saw many
similar tools, when I bought it I thought it was an odd shaped screwdriver
made for a particular purpose.

It's definitely a hammer, but according to the guy who sold it to me it had
a different secondary purpose although it looks like it would work as a
drift.

Not necessarily, i've seen several old plane irons with anchor
emblems - could be a foundry mark.

This is probably right but I don't know the exact name of it, I posted a
side view of it here:

maybe someone will verify your answer for me.

LOL, that's a great link, I'll have to send that to a few people.

I'd say that 151 is a hoof pick, used to clean horse's hooves. The
anvhor emblem would suggest a nautical use, however.

Elsewhere someone posted this link to some spurs with the same symbol:

http://www.rubylane.com/ni/shops/prairieland/iteml/1605#pic2

A couple of equestrian folks also verified it for me, so as far as I'm
concerned this one is officially a hoof pick.
