Folks have been asking about the new WorkSharp sharpening
machine/system.
As a Sharpening Phreak (ok so maybe it's just "Phreak") I've tried many
ways
to sharpen woodworking tools and own quite an assortment of jigs and
stones,
Scary Sharp (tm), grinders etc. and have bench chisels, plane irons,
carving
chisels and gouges as well as turning chisels and gouges to keep sharp.
It's
the turning chisels and gouges that require frequent sharpening because
their
edges cut more wood in a minute or two than most other edged tools see
in
a month - or year. And turning tool "grinds" make all other edged tools
look downright simple to sharpen.
The available sharpening systems most similar to the WorkSharp are
- the JoolTool (because of the "sharpen from underneath- see through
abrassive" method
- the Lap-Sharp (because, while it's a far more precise device, it uses
a slow speed rotating plate with abrassive paper on it to work -
mainly
on flat bevel tools)
Anyway - here's the url to my User Review of the WorkSharp WS3000
package.

as always, comments, suggestions, constructive criticism are welcomed

Charlie,
Thanks for the great review!! I really need to get something else to
charpen my turning tools, etc and I was looking at the WorkShop the other
day wondering if it would do the job and was worth the money.
Helped me make up my mind...
Again thanks!!

Once again, "you're a good man, Charlie Brown" .. might've known you'd be
ahead of the pack.
Exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks for the doing, and the effort in
doing!
