I know webtv doesn't allow you to filter, but filtering is indeed the
answer.

Every reply, every response (unfortunately including this one) simply
encourages things.

Since I set up a filter to kill anything cross-posted to three or more
groups, I see very little of the bullshit until someone decides to post
a message along the lines of the one I'm replying to.

If you're going to stay with webtv, you're going to have to grow an
even thicker skin. The alternative is to get a PC, a good newsgroup
reader, and set up a decent filtering system.

It's not fair, and you shouldn't have to, but that's reality.

You mean one of those singing ones that wag their tales?

Actually, firstly you need to believe... and that takes a certain
something. Then you need to see spiritual phenomena, most of which end
up in the pages of magazines, such as the currant bun that looks like
Mother Theresa.

HEY! Can you guys stop crossposting irrelevant crap to everyone? Please?
This troll crap needs to be stopped and it will only work by not
responding. If you feel the need to feed someones ego, do it in a
relevant group, the photo and woodworking groups aren't it. Although I
doubt the dentistry group is either. I won't post again I promise. And
yes I crossposted. Sorry.

Oh, for the Gods' sake people, it's another flaming troll you're
replying to. He/she has cross-posted to all these newsgroups:
rec.photo.digital,
rec.photo.equipment.35mm,
soc.culture.jewish,
sci.med.dentistry,
rec.woodworking
just to get responses, and that's what's happening. Every response is
showing up on all five newsgroups. This can be considered harrassment,
because of the multitude of posts.

Instead of replying to this, you need to report it to
[email protected] and [email protected], and report any other trolls
to their servers. That's the only way we're going to get rid of these
trolls.

You need to start checking the posts of posters unfamiliar to you,
and off-topic posts, to see if they are cross-posted, before you reply.
If they're cross-posted, chances are almost certain it's a troll.

I just turned away long enough to take a digital picture and now I'm a
heretic? Sheesh, that hardly seems fair, after all the time I put in Sunday
School, wearing that ill-fitting, scratchy suit.

Besides, if it's wrong to serve other gods, what are you supposed to do when
one of them pulls up to the MacDonalds drive-up window at 2 a.m. and you're
workin' the night shift with no pastor, imam, or rabbi nearby to ask for
guidance? Refuse to serve He, She, or It and you're likely to have your
head super-sized 'til it pops and I for one don't want to end up as the
main course in Cthulu's Unhappy Meal.

P.S.-Maybe your message was cross-posted to the wrong newsgroup. BTW,
"Sheesh" is the Goddess of Spam--no offense intended.
