I made mine out of steel roll pins from my hardware store. They last
a hell of a lot longer than brass does. I just wish my DP had a reverse
on it.

If it's belt drive try twisting the belt to a figure 8. Wouldn't run it
that way long--it will kill the belt right quick, but in a pinch it can
be handy.
