DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier
who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Andrew K. Waits, 23, of Waterford, Mich., died April 13, in
Baghdad, Iraq, where an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV
during combat operations. Waits was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd
Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air
Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
