Is there ANY way to get psychologically sick wacko's like this off of
these newsgroups? Why do you think he posts on rec.woodworking
exclusively?

It is a shame that losers like this have the power to disrupt these
forums. I guess it is because they can -- where else in society would
they be tolerated. Even in public arenas, one could summon the police
to have them removed as a public nuisance.

I've keep reporting this as spam abuse to google newsgroups. Maybe
eventually they will filter these on their end.

He may very well post to other news groups under one of his other names. He
cannot remember what his name is.

Basically he posts to this news group because he gets noticed. In other
news groups he just blinds in and does not get the attention that he
desperately needs.

Because idiots still continue to respond to his posts.

No.

He may very well post on other groups. Maybe he uses a variety of
aliases. He's hardly the first and surely not the last.

Yes, the net is, and has been, a bit of a wild west.

That said, I'd be hesitant to be too quick in shutting people down as
a "public nuisance". If you think about it, all he's doing is pasting
off-topic news clippings in a newsgroup, then behaving like an ill-
mannered 13 year old when challenged. All in all it's pretty minor
stuff and easily ignored if you so choose. I'd be happy to tolerate a
dozen of his type so that anyone may spout off as they wish.

Or you could filter it on YOUR end. Blocking his posts is simple
enough. Some newreaders I suspect can block an entire thread if you
wish.

At any rate, if he bothers you, he is easily ignored... so... quit
whining ;-)

Actually, he's not posting through Google Groups. He's posting through
Verizon using Outlook. So technically, YOUR constant reporting to
Google could be considered a "nuisance" to them ;-)

It's all good though. The world continues to spin in spite of us all.
