Sandpaper

80 grit Aluminum Oxide (abrasive) sandpaper versus Silicon Carbide
(abrasive) sandpaper.

What is the practical difference, from the point of view of sharpening
chisels, say? Any?
I noticed a feller on the Woodsmith shop used Aluminum Oxide before he went
to Silicon Carbinde
on the finer grits.

Thank you,
Bill

The practical difference is that it's hard to find anything but aluminum
oxide in coarse grits and anything but silicon carbide in fine grits.
