no idea on the first, but the second one is a faucet repair part....the ball
from a single lever faucet, possibly an older delta...the new ones are mostly
all plastic..

Correct, it's a delta part from a single lever faucet. Someone posted the
correct answer to number 148 in the comments section on my site, so I went
ahead and posted a photo of it from the proper angle:
