Craftsman Job Saw opinion

I am looking into purchasing the Craftsman Professional 10 in. Jobsite
Saw. It's new. I have gone to a Sears to check it out in person and
am basically impressed, except for the fence. It did not lock very
tightly. However, I couldn't figure out if it was an issue with the
display unit or not. I did ask the folks there, but they didn't have
a very deep knowlege of the equipment. So looking to see if anyone
else has experience with saw.
thanks,
Denzo

Stay away from Craftsman products. The only thing good they have going
for them is good marketing. I hate all of the cheap assholes like you
who are polluting the wreck nowadays.

Then you don't want it, IMHO.

For my money, the Unifence provides the minimum acceptable level of
performance for a fence.

Sears & Roebuck products will probably have a difficult time meeting that
standard.

Take it from someone who has a shop full of Crapsman tools...
Not worth the time to plug them in.
Not worth the effort to use them.
Most of all NOT worth the money they cost.

I spent three days just getting the table saw to cross cut right. The
blade was way out of alignment with the mitter slots. I had to
disassemble the thing and redrill the holes in the arbor housing and
install set screws so that when I did get it aligned it would stay
that way. Then I found out that when I set the blade at a 45% it was
out of alignment. This will be the first thing to get replaced. I
think I will load up the saw and take it to the job site and hope
someone steals it. Same issues with the band saw. lathe, jointer and
most of the power hand tools from sears. The sanders only lasted a few
months and have been replaced.

Sears id for the suckers like I was. Never again.
