Hey, did you get your DJ20 Parts? I hope you are having better luck than I
am.

I moved the base and top to the basement last weekend and I I finally had
gotten the time to finish assembling the fence and found out that it was
defected. When tightning the fence carriage to the Jointer base the carriage
return keeps pulling up and is not level with the outfeed table. When I took
a square to the fence carriage it has a gap on one side hence causing it to
ride up when I tighten it.

As you would say.... DOINK'd by Delta

I guess I'll call them on Tuesday and have them send me a new one.

The carriage return is not machined properly. You can see it plain as day
because there are two sides and one side is nicely machined flat and the
other side is not.

I'll call Delta and have them ship me the carriage directly. That way it
will get to me faster instead of having to drive out to TP. Besides, every
time I go out there I spend money. I was there Friday and dropped another
grand.

The parts arrived Friday, the jointer is now in operation. The belt
is an off the shelf Gates, complete with packaging, the bolts are
silver (vs. black) and the guard is a different color (light gray vs.
blue-gray) than the rest of the tool. The package was shipped from
Porter Cable in MA.

It's almost as if they came up with a guard and sent someone to a
local hardware store for the rest of the parts. <G>

It *does* joint nicely.

The fence is twisted, or the carriage is bent?

I can't complain about the response time, I just wish they got it
right the first time.

Let me know how it goes. Tools-Plus offered to help me if necessary.
maybe you should bring them into the loop.

I did the same, but called TP just to see if they could help.
