Tandy Leather sells a cheap one, probably not the design you're looking for
but you may consider buying one for it's hardware and then making your own
clamp. Do a search for a "stitching pony"

There's nothing wrong with them as such, but they were fairly basic and
plain. Since I'm looking to make something for a Christmas present, I was
looking to jazz it up a little. I've got a stash of rosewood that's been
looking for a project... I appreciate the one you posted, it gives another
idea or two, and he was nice enough to post the dimensions. :)

Since I'm not a leather worker, it's hard to say what works, and what
doesn't. I could make one from either of the plans that I posted, but
whether they were good designs or not is anyone's guess. Well, besides the
person who originally created the pages, and perhaps other people who had
used the plans. Just looking for input. I'll try the Yahoo groups, but
I've avoided joining most of those, just cause I never found anything there
that seemed valuable enough to give them my personal information. I was
surprised not to find a leatherworking newsgroup. At least, my ISP didn't
carry one. Nearest match had the words "fetish" and "leather" in it. Now,
those folks might know a lot about clamps, and maybe even stiches, but I
really don't want to go there!
