Tierra Del Fuego.....THANKS MAN!!! Now I will have that Popsicle Toes
song in IN MY HEAD for the rest of the night...and well into
tomorrow....now, don't get me wrong.. Michael Franks is one hell of an
artist, and backs himself up with the likes of Joe Sample, Larry
Carlton, Felder, and many more..Brecker brothers, those two Steely Dan
schmucks...all great music...
And when God gave out rythm
He sure was good to you.
You can add, subtract, multiply and divide...
By two.
I know today's your birthday,
And I did not buy no rose.
But I wrote this song instead and I call it,
"Popsicle Toes".
Popsicle toes.
Popsicle toes are always froze.
Popsicle toes.
You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes.
You must have been Miss Pennsylvania
With all this pulchritude.
How come you always load your Pentax
When I'm in the nude?
We oughta have a birthday party,
And you can wear you birthday clothes
We can hit the floor
And go explore those
Popsicle toes.
You got the nicest North America
This sailor ever saw.
I'd like to feel your warm Brazil
And touch your Panama
But Your Tierra del Fuegos
Are nearly always froze.
We gotta see saw
until we unthaw those
Popsicle toes.
Popsicle toes.
Popsicle toes are always froze.
Popsicle toes.
You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes

Good point. After the idiocy on the music awards the other night, someone
posted a similar tribute to the baseball player who stopped a flag burning
incident during a game. Don't remember his name right now, but Tommy
Lasorda was third base coach and was also running to the incident as well.

I can't recall all the prominent people that have passed this year
but the list is astounding.

Have I missed something? I know there's a joke there somewhere but I seem
to have completely missed it.

Bummer. I still occasionally put on some PP&M songs and sing harmony
till I become hoarse or too drunk. I'll hafta do a memorial sing
along this weekend. :\

They may not get much media attention, but class and dignity are out there,
much of it among the younger generations. I walk somewhat unsteadily with a
cane and use the ride on carts in the stores that have them. It's truly
wonderful how many young people (men and women) will hold a door for me or
ask if they can help get an item from the top shelf in a store. I don't
really need the help, but it sure is pleasant to get asked. Whether or not I
accept the help, I make sure I look them in the eye and thank them for
asking or opening the door.
