Bought a Craftsman 16" Var. Speed Scroll Saw for 20 Bucks at an
auction. (one of those "returned merchandise, buy at your own risk,
where-is-as-is,what the heck I'll take a chance deals)

Got her home and unboxed..oopsie..speed control pot broke. Noprob, new
pot soldered in, turn power on....motor noises are good. Noise goes
faster and slower with pot but nothing is moving......lookie here! Set
screw on eccentric is loose from motor shaft. Righty tighty and try
again. Turn it on....

TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF! Obvious motor in distress. Locked up. Hmmmm.
AHA! Spacer is missing between eccentric follower bearing and
eccentric, effectively bolting them together. Two small washers
replace spacer and SHE RUNS! A little more vibration than I care for
but it's better than what I had before!

Now if I can just swap her even for a 1932 Stanley coping saw with
original blade......I can be a galoot!

Try to remember that Freddy died as a raving syphilitic madman.

Responsible scholars have been at pains to separate the earlier
writings from the understandably compromised scribblings of the later
period.

This might best be filed under the "He Who Laughs Last..." heading.

Then again, credence may be lent to the argument of Kierkegaard that
says Christianity is fundamentally absurd, as it relies on faith,
which is beyond reason.

Absurdity is not a problem in the arena of faith.

I think Freddy knew about this - but he got confused, towards the end.

Also Sprach Zarathustra is a good one.

The Antichrist is suspect.

That's the most sense you've made all day. ;)
