Any reviews of new DeWalt planers

I'm in the market for a planer and saw the new DeWalt 734 and 735
planers in Lowes recently. I was particularly impressed with the
features and look and feel of the 735 (couldn't fire it up of course).
They seem to be leapfrogging their major competitor (Delta) with this
unit - at least on paper. A quick Google search turned up no reviews of
these new planers. Has anyone used them, or can you point me to
reviews?

Thanks,

Steve

We talked about the 735 a little while ago, can't help you with the
734. http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=16537b6e.0309140612.71f72af7%40posting.google.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Ddw735%2Bgroup:rec.woodworking%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26group%3Drec.woodworking%26selm%3D16537b6e.0309140612.71f72af7%2540posting.google.com%26rnum%3D1

Wood had a recent article on it and they loved it.

It's on my wish list!

The October issue of Popular Woodworking has a review on it. The short version
is that they pretty much loved it in every way, except that its universal motor
is very noisy. I saw one at Woodcraft on Friday, and it does indeed look very
nice and has some really cool features. I'm still holding out for one of the
big-daddy planers with a smooth, powerful (and hopefully much quieter) 220V
induction motor.
