If you are planning to walk, it's 263 h (800 miles) via Natchez Trace Pkwy.

However, G-maps warns: "Use caution - may involve errors or sections not
suited for walking"
Gee, thanks for the warning! ;-)

I have often thought it might be nice to visit Highland Hardware. Might
be a cool weekend road trip.

It's a bit of a trek, but not too bad. It's not until the other side of
Atlanta as you start traveling through South Carolina that they start
replaying the same scenery every few miles.
We've gone from Northwest Arkansas (Fayetteville area) to Atlanta, and
it's about a day and a half. On the way back from North Carolina to
relatives place in NWA, we had time to detour about an hour north to see
some other relatives and still keep that overly long trip to 3 days.

Not sure it's worth a trip just to go to the store but if you're
anywhere close, it is the best WW store I've been in. Lots of
high-end stuff (though they only carry Rikon bandsaws).

If you might be driving through Atlanta, GA, Highland Woodworking is an
enjoyable place to stop and spend an hour or more. I did so last month.
