DoD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine
who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Michael S. Probst, 26, of Irvine, Calif., died Feb.
14 from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations
near Abu Ghraib, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine
Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif. During
Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II
Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
