Mccain: "Don't be scared of an Obama presidency"

LAKEVILLE, Minn. - The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and
John McCain is acting to tamp it down. McCain was booed by his own
supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions
about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent
person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president
of the United States."

A sense of grievance spilling into rage has gripped some GOP events
this week as McCain supporters see his presidential campaign lag
against Obama. Some in the audience are making it personal, against
the Democrat. Shouts of "traitor," "terrorist," "treason," "liar," and
even "off with his head" have rung from the crowd at McCain and Sarah
Palin rallies, and gone unchallenged by them.

McCain changed his tone Friday when supporters at a town hall pressed
him to be rougher on Obama. A voter said, "The people here in
Minnesota want to see a real fight." Another said Obama would lead the
U.S. into socialism. Another said he did not want his unborn child
raised in a country led by Obama.

"If you want a fight, we will fight," McCain said. "But we will be
respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments." When people
booed, he cut them off.

Neither McCain nor Obama!

To the more liberal Americans: Do you really think that Obama is the
=93anti-war candidate=94 when he now cravenly says that he is not
committed to complete pullout from Iraq on his original timetable and
that he will =93evaluate the situation at the time.=94 Obama actually
promises to massively increase American troops in the meat-grinder of
Afghanistan. Are these the words of an anti-war candidate, or an
extreme, pro-war candidate?

Just like John McCain, Obama has prostrated himself at the feet of the
Jewish Lobby and the extremists who run Israel. His biggest single
source of campaign money comes from the hyper-globalist, Zionist,
international banking house of Goldman Sachs, and he dutifully
supported the 700 billion theft proposed by them and just like McCain
supports Fed Chairman Ben SHALOM Bernanke. Is Obama an agent of change
or more of the same in a different, more acceptable, and perhaps more
dangerous face? With the hatred of George Bush in America and around
the world, and Obama viewed as an agent of change, he is actually in
a position to advance the same insane, globalist policies of war and
globalism more dangerously than would be a John McCain who is seen
accurately as a continuation of the policies of George Bush.

To the more conservative Americans: Do you really think John McCain,
Mr. Amnesty, truly supports your true interests? 15 out of the 20
largest sources of McCain=92s campaign come from Wall Street, Globalist
financial firms, including, as is the case for Obama: firms like
Goldman Sachs. He, like Obama, supported the bailout, the biggest
theft in American history, and for truly patriotic Americans,
remember: he supports Americans spending the blood of our sons and
bankrupting this country in endless wars for Israel.

Those of you from the Left or the Right who think you must vote for
the =93lesser of two evils,=94 are being manipulated by the media to
support the continuation of a rigged system that the American people
cannot win. The lesser of two evils is still EVIL! [...]

Howdy,

Sadly, I agree with your #2 description above...

One would hope though that things far beyond "irritating our
president" would one day become the motivating force behind
our foreign policy.

All the best,

It would seem that they would get the same experience if they were engaged
in a war that was not based on a pack of lies.

If the tip of the spear is so polished why are they still getting killed
over in Iraq and Afghanistan? Not polished enough?

Around here, it has been the rednecks. Not long ago, a pair broke into
a shut-down arsenal nearby, to steal coppier wire. One asshole used
bolt cutters on what turned out to be, IIRC, a 460 volt live wire. He
didn't make it, and the clown with him--might have been his son--was
seriously injured. They were NOT Canadian, Hispanic, Bulgarian or
such. Just simple Scots-Irish who wanted booze money.

ignored. We can easily discuss the issues without advancing or propagating a

Oh, they riot all right- it is just usually over sports, not something
as meaningless to them as politics. Look in any big-city/college town
paper the day after their team wins a championship, or loses in the last
game.

True. But, uh, what 'pack of lies?'

We went to war with Spain over the blowing up of the Battleship Maine, but
subsequent research shows the ship probably blew up because of coal dust,
not sabotage.

And the best thing of all is that the cost to us was so small. Only
trillions of dollars and a few thousand dead and permanently crippled young
people. Yeah, our losses in the affair didn't amount to much, and now we
have some more experienced soldiers. That invasion was a great idea.

We have virtually no training program where the risk of death or serious
bodily injury is involved. We have no training program at all where you get
to kill people.

As for lives lost, well, that's regrettable. Still, our soldiers joined up
knowing death or serious injury was possible. They thought it was worth the
risk. Same idea as mountain climbing or car racing. The thrill of
accomplishment, the testing of one's self, the exercise of skill.

Some of the stock market dump MAY have been caused by obama fear.

Mc Cain is the one who took his campaign very negative early. Obama
has been respectuful.

Go to some of the games. I quit some years ago, because leaving the
stadium got tiresome, and not because of the lengthy bus ride to the
cars. Over the years, I've seen goodly number of fights and had a
couple, but beer emboldened redneck college students are a special
case. Punching each other out on the top row of bleachers ain't the
brightest form of changing each other's opinons, and we seldom left a
UVA game with seeing a half dozen of those and a lot more of the kind
of silliness that leads to such punch-outs.

It's OK to blame rednecks, it's not politically correct to
put the blame where it really belongs. Around Birmingham, AL
the theft of air conditioners, any kind of aluminum, copper
wire and pipe has dramatically increased in the last few years.
Millions of dollars in damage is being done to unoccupied or
homes under construction in order to steal the metal. Many
homeowners come home from work or a trip to find that their AC
has been stolen or stripped of copper and aluminum. Since we
can't say who's really doing it, we are now blaming it on the
Bulgarians or Canadians if we're really mad. The theory being
that when The Soviet Union broke up, The Bulgarian Secret Service
had nothing to do, so they've migrated to The United States to
steal copper and aluminum. Damn Eastern European Honkies!

substance people need, or desire, is taken from the legal

At a time when even the Army is beginning to wonder if the spear is
the proper shape. But I guess even that is a plus if we get away from
fighting every war in Central Europe. For further I commend one and all
to Thomas P.M. Barnett and his book The Pentagon's New Map. Especially
the Leviathan and sys-admin bifurcation of forces.

Perhaps some McCain supporters have been a tad outspoken. You'd be
hard-pressed to find one, though, that's been arrested. This unfortunately
is not the case on the other side. In just the past week Obama supporters
have been nabbed for everything from assault to arson.

And there's nothing wrong, per se, with hate. It's what you do with the hate
that is sometimes a problem or a blessing. For example, the famous quote:

"Kill Japs, kill Japs, kill more Japs," (Admiral William "Bull" Halsey)
probably contributed to the killing of lots of Japs.

Face it.

The only reason many identify McCain with Bush is so they can get another
more chance to defeat Dubya. That's understandable; we conservatives have
been trying to bury FDR for decades.

And I'll take issue with some of your conclusions. For example, there are
two salutary benefits to the Iraq war:

1. Virtually every ground commander in our armed forces, from sergeant to
general, has led men in combat. You can't BUY this kind of experience. The
tip of the spear is not only sharpened, but polished.

2. Consider the consequences Sadaam suffered for irritating our president.
Sadaam was stripped of power, evicted from his homes, had his fortune
confiscated, his family exiled, his children killed, his friends imprisoned,
and, in the fullness of time, his own neck stretched. This endeavor focuses
the attention of other who might be similarly inclined.
