Hey group. I'm looking at the possibility of a fence upgrade. I've got a
Grizzly cabinet saw that I absolutely love, but the Shop Fox fence is, IMHO,
just ok. I'm not crazy about it though. I've been hearing that a Biesemeyer
fence will just drop right on to the existing Shop Fox rails, saving me a
pile of cash by not having to purchase new guide rails. Does anyone have any
info or experience on this ?

there are a lot of bies clones out there. I'm not familiar with the
shop fox, but you might want to get a look at a bies in person to see
if it's going to be enough better to make you happy. if you do decide
to do it, consider buying a fence only from here:

there are a couple of them there right now, and if those don't fit your
needs check back later...

What do you not like about it. When I got mine I could not stand the
cursor with the big line and magnifier. I went down to my local dealer
and got a biesemeyer cursor for $2.60. Now it sits just above the scale
and the line is the same thickness as the scale.
My Grizzly cabinet saw (about 3 years old) has no paint on the Shop Fox
fence rail. In fact, it looks like it was ground smooth or polished in some
way. While I recognize that Biesemeyer is THE name in fences, I really
haven't found a good reason to change out my Shop Fox. When adjusted it
seems to make accurate cuts and I like the low-friction plastic faces.
Perhaps one would better appreciate Biesemeyer's quality, if a side-by-side
comparison were done.

Dig around on the Biesemeyer site and you will find the dimensions of
the rails and tube for both the commercial and home fence systems.
Make sure your tube matches one of those sizes and that you get the
correct fence for that size.

The Biesemeyer "universal" will fit just about anything.
If that don't work, a drill bit will handle any other
problems.
